Experience That Helped Define the Industry
The leadership behind Deaerator Solutions spans more than 50 years in the deaerator business.
Mike Koontz began his career during the era of Chicago Heater Deaerator and later founded Kansas City Deaerator Co. before establishing Deaerator Solutions LLC. Over that time, Mike has worked across virtually every major deaerator design in operation, directing engineering, fabrication, troubleshooting, and global installations in exacting industrial environments.
Since 1989, he has maintained continuous involvement with the Heat Exchange Institute, contributing directly to the reinstatement and advancement of HEI deaerator specifications. Being the longest member of the Heat Exchange Institute, his service includes four separate terms as Deaerator Section President and as Past President of the entire Institute, guiding the development of performance standards that continue to shape modern deaerator engineering worldwide. Mike as President of Kansas City Deaerator along with two other companies not in business today reinstated the Deaerator section and Specifications that are respected worldwide. The HEI incorporated the NACE requirements from upgrades in the early 1980s.
